To facilitate the achievement of these objectives DAG organised meetings/round-tables and presentation in association with Nabarro, London Chamber of Commerce & Industry and The Law Society
The London Chamber Of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) was a by invitation only round-table. The round-table was chaired by Deputy Chief Executive of the LCCI – Peter Bishop and Subhash Thakrar, Deputy Vice President – LCCI and Senior Partner CBW, Blackstone Franks. Peter Bishop opened the meeting with welcome and introduction and Honourable Minister Rashid was called on to give an introduction to Ghana, current PPP opportunities and an update on Ghana Government plans. Subhash Thakrar then led and facilitated questions and answer session by participating companies to Honourable Minister Rashid. Who gave very frank, interesting and informative responses to the questions and concerns of participants. The meeting was closed with vote of thanks by Subhash Thakrar and a photo-call.
DAG also organised in association with Nabarro a presentation evening: Access Invest Opportunities In Ghana – A Fast Growing Economy. This was an open event targeted mainly at private investors, SME’s and MNE’s, those who are interested and those who are already operating in the region. The evening was opened by Stephanie McDonald – Africa Group and Abbeam Ampomah Danso Chairman of DAG, introduced and invited Honourable Minister Rashid to the stand. Who gave a brief overview of Ghana and investment climate. Stephanie McDonald then opened the rest of the evening to Q&A session, which was very informative and gave the audience an open invitation to ask questions relating to their business and concerns. The evening was closed with a vote of thanks and a canapés and networking session ensued.
DAG also organised in association with the Law Society & British Expertise another invitation only round-table. The discussions explored the steps being taken by the government to ease foreign direct investment and the development of effective regulatory structures to support this process together with practical guidance and considerations for taking investment opportunities forward. The meeting was opened by Welcome from Head of International, LSEW, and Nankunda Katangaza and chaired by Graham Olver – Chairman, British Expertise. After introductions Honourable Minister Rashid gave an overview and participants shared their experience of PPP in other regions and asked questions on the legal structures and policies of PPP in Ghana and more widely.
